London Buses route 258

London Buses route 258 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London and Hertfordshire, England. Running between Watford Junction and South Harrow stations, it is operated by Arriva The Shires.
==History==
Route 258 commenced operating on 30 October 1971 between Watford Junction and Harrow-on-the-Hill stations replacing route 182. On 22 April 1978, it was extended to South Harrow station replacing route 114.
Upon being put up for tender, route 258 passed to London Country North West. It was included in the sale of the business to Luton & District in October 1990. Upon being re-tendered, the route passed to London Buslines on 27 January 1996. The route was included in the 20 March 1996 sale of London Buslines to First London.
London Buslines was later closed and moved to CentreWest's Alperton garage in 1999; using ex-London Buslines Dennis Darts. Route 258 was converted to double decks in 2001, using Plaxton President bodied Dennis Trident 2s, later these buses were replaced by Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs.
Upon being re-tendered, route 258 passed to Arriva The Shires' Watford garage on 4 February 2006 with new Wright Pulsar Gemini bodied DAF DB250LFs. When next tendered, Arriva The Shires retained the route with a new contract commencing on 5 February 2011.〔(Bus tender results Route 258 ) Transport for London 29 April 2010〕
